Mystica Log 1
In a heartbeat, Eliza had caught up with the creature. Not wanting to struggle too much with somebody that had a knife, she did the only thing she could think of: she sat on its back and planted a foot firmly on the back of its arm. Hoping it wasn't more flexible than she had imagined, she drew out a sinister-looki
ng cleaver and pressed its edge to the back of the creature's neck. However, when she spoke, her voice was a breathless plea. "Please," she said. "I don't want to hurt you. I don't. But those children... they are very important to-to all of us. And I can't..." She trailed off. This monster didn't care. Probably helped. Her lips set into a thin line.
"Whoa whoa whoa, listen lady, I don't know anything. All I know is that a band of raiders went over to the other side to kidnap the descendants of the Traitor." The creature wouldn't dare move an inch; to him the human wielding the cleaver didn't seem to stable at the moment.
Eliza almost calmed down, but didn't move, waiting for the others to get there so they could decide what to do with him. "Great the raiders were from this weird-ass place," she muttered. Eliza supposed she couldn't be too surprised. "Uh... what Traitor?" she decided to ask.
"Hasn't your ancestors told you about the story, of how one of the founders of your small hamlet coming over here. He was made king but only long enough to magically ban any of us to cross the portal into your world." The stranger suddenly realized he was talking to much and finished what he was saying. "But why am I even telling you guys this, screw you all!"
Instead of garnering sympathy, the comment just seemed to make Eliza angry. "Wow, that totally doesn't concern me in the slightest," Eliza said. "Other than the fact that because you guys were suckers a very long time ago, you thought it was justification to kidnap a bunch of innocent children." She thought of the child she was going to save. "Really innocent children," she growled. "Guys!" she shouted over her shoulder. "Get your asses over here!"
Terrick, who has been right on Eliza's heels, comes to a halt and leans over the strange looking man who is now in submission. He has heard the entirety of their conversation. "Wait... if you guys couldn't cross the portal into our world, how did a group of you manage to kidnap our children?"
Aderyn screeched to a halt by Terrick's side, catching only the tail end of the conversation. Her quick temper had risen and she bit her tongue to stay silent and hear the reply.
Weylin strode absentmindedly towards the excited group, his staff dancing playfully in his hands. Are we going to kill him? He kinda looks like a suffocating fish, maybe he tastes, well, better than that sounds. He decided not to vocalize his musings and ignored his grumbling stomach. “Anyone have any bluish green makeup?” he asked, staring out towards the castle.
He turned his attention back to the creature pinned to the ground. Sure he was a bit odd, being not human and all, but what was so scary about him; he had weird skin, pointy ears and bolted at raised voices. Content he was safe; Weylin sat down and placed his staff across his lap. He leaned back his head and marveled at the sheer immensity of the underground and wondered what may lie ahead.
Weylin was sick of hearing about the children and sat ignoring the banter beside him. If it was important he didn’t care, all he wanted to do was explore this mysterious place and maybe even see one of those Northerners; now they sounded scary. He drummed his thumbs impatiently on his staff, waiting to see what decision the group had come to.
Rozalynn sits next to Weylin and leans to his ear. "Can we just kill him already?"
"wait, you're hungry too?" Weylin looked worriedly at Rozalynn; he hadn't meant to say that out loud.
Aderyn stifled a laugh at Weylin's comment momentarily distracted from the creature. She turned back to the humanoid figure on the ground, "Just tell us, what do you want the children for?" She demanded
"Hrm.." Rozlaynn paused. "Now that you mention it, yeah."
Eliza's cleaver began to draw blood from the creatures throat, and an ill-timed sneeze sealed the deal. With the creature bleeding out around the group, and the ominous castle standing innocently in the distance, there was not another living being in sight.
Eliza stepped away from the bloody mess and stared out towards the castle. "Well, I guess it's obvious what's next, we must sneak into the castle and find the children."
Dirk grumbled and absentmindedly took a swig from his empty flask. "Hey guys, I could really use some more alcohol, somebody just died."
Weylin stood up and made his way to the creatures corpse while the others were busy talking amongst themselves. He knelt down to it's side and felt a rage devour him. He ripped open the creatures shirt and plunged his teeth into his warm flesh. specks of blood spattered around and chunks of blueish skin dotted Weylin's cheeks. His eyes were ravenous but his hunger slowly waned.
Rozalyn stared a moment, "move over, hog."
